These smooth stones come in a variety of vibrant, milky-pastel shades. Light shimmers beyond their semi-translucent surface, a dance of eons past.

Opels can be used to snag useful goods, upgrades and rare characters from different Markets around Kepla!

You can also trade Opels, Items and Keplarians with other players.

Short Stories

A tale of sparkling stones

Shaped over millennia by ancient crashing waters, Raw Opels were eventually entombed in earth & debris. Only a few hundred years ago did these sparkling treasures resurface under powerful tectonic forces, leaving several deposits to discover across the continent!

The Opel River in the Altafields is the richest source of these 'Raw Opels' - stones yet to be engraved and enter circulation as currency.

All Keplarians are free to gather and deliver Raw Opels to the Opelworks in return for the same quantity of etched Opels, provided the stones match the following criteria:

• 1.3-1.7 cm (height)
• 3-5 cm (width and depth)
• No cracks, sharp edges or
other major defects

Enter the Opel Quest

The Opel Droevyn

At first, the islet chosen for the Opelworks seemed perfect, but as construction commenced a sense of unease enshadowed the worksite... Increased sightings of an enormous beast haunted the builders' minds, who would be no match for its brilliant speed, armoured body and fierce claws. Despite the pay, some workers fled while others suggested alternate sites, yet the operation pushed forward under Virkifoss's command.

The completed domes stood tall and sparkling, detailed with magnificent artistry of local materials, and the site was quickly populated with workers. Alongside the elated celebrations of Kepla's first mint were also surprising insights about Mosmire's great 'Opel Droevyn'...

One misty morning, after barely a moon cycle, the workers rose to a collection of raw Opels left outside the gates. Sparkling in the dew lay the most perfectly water-worn, vibrant stones they had ever seen, encircled by sunken Droevyn footprints.

Through the stained glass roof of the Opelworks, the Droevyn had been watching, intrigued by the stonemasons' work. Chatter of these unexpected gifts swept through the hamlet, washing away old fears and sparking a new reciprocal curiosity...

With courage and patience, a Rockali Opelsmith befriended the Droevyn, even engraving one of its scales with its very own marking. The creature's evident joy marked the beginning of an incredible bond.

They call it Verndari, the Protector. His brilliant armour now a gallery of gorgeous carved markings, its claws swift and unrivalled weapons reserved for any who dare steal from the Opelworks or its carts. Glimpse him frolicking in the waters of Mosmire, or spending time on the roof of the Opelworks, admiring the creation of Opels through its beautiful stained glass.
